Jim Cramer Says: LVLT, RAD, SVNT for 2007
Last night's Mad Money show(01/05/07), Jim Cramer gave his top three speculative picks for 2007.
His picks:
1. Level 3 Communications, LVLT
2. Rite Aid, RAD
3. Savient Pharmaceuticals, SVNT
These picks caught my attention since they have been typical swing trading or short term trading plays. He warned, as he usually does, don't run out and buy these after hours or first thing Monday morning, but to do your homework over the weekend. I wonder how many folks will do that.
I blogged back on 12/14/06 when he recommended GSIC. The next day volume jumped to over 2 million from 375 thousand and it gained 7%. Same thing when he recommended GSOL back on 12/8/06 - the stock was trading at $14, the next day it was $16.30 - 16% jump - and volume jumped from 55 thousand to 1.4 million. Bloggers have discussed the Jim Cramer effect, I wonder is it too late to profit from it?

A few thoughts here:
SVNT has been a bigtime stock this past year.
If you look on a yearly chart you'll see it has only failed to produce a 1 month profit from the previous month once out of the last 12 months.Pretty impressive.
IOM, LVLT is one of the "safest" swing trades around.Once it goes green it is usually good for a nice profit over the course of a few days, also it gets alot of attention from the institutions, often trading way into the millions of shares.
Your previous watches continue to be very nice.ACTC FORG SIRI leading the way.
ENCY is now inside the LBB and like PQE and NFLD may go on a few day run.
I continue to daytrade DKAM as it seems to get news very often of late. It's real swishy, the kind i like.
One I am holding from it's breakout Friday from the fast%k14<10 on big volume is AGIX.It now has a 7 day "stairstep" volume increase.
One that traded impressively Friday on a very bad overall market day was WTAR.I caught it just as it crossed the even dollar mark(love that angle)of 1(even better:)just like ZICA and ONT 2 weeks ago and SCRA last week.
BTW I,ve tried many times to comment but for some reason it very seldom goes through, wondering if others have had the same problem?
